In years past I have always sent a Christmas card to farmers that have allowed me to hunt their land with a handwritten letter.
I have friends out north of you and they are reporting alot of the grass lands have been matted down by this snow so some of the creps may not be holding birds. I would look for WPA's and GMA's as they often have better grass and some shelterbelts, don't forget to look WIA's as well some in Edmunds county looked very promising. Other wise walk the perimiter of cattails for grass land next to the crops.Title says it all, newbie in SD this week with my dog chasing pheasant. Staying around Redfield area in a motel, but willing to drive. Have a setter, so mostly looking for CREP lands. Any suggestions welcome, particularly with this weather - if we can even get 2 days of decent hunting and some bird work I would call that a success
