Just thought I'd introduce myself. I found this place, or actually it found me I guess. I was watching some videos on Youtube yesterday and one of them featured Troy Smith and the work he is doing at Byron Walker wildlife area. Anyway, after watching the video it gave a phone number to contact Troy, which I did. He called me back yesterday and we had a really nice chat about habitat and habitat improvement. He recommended I check out this website, so here I am. I'm a habitat junky, haven't shot a quail or pheasant in many many years mainly because we dont have hardly any left around here, as far as quail anyway. Never have had pheasant. So, I'm just trying to do my part to get the habitat back to where it can support more birds. I take lots of pics of the work I've done and am doing and enjoy sharing those with folks who enjoy looking. Thats pretty much it in a nutshell.

Welcome to site. I also live in Mo and try to help the habitat even though I am a grain farmer too. Can have both grain fields and good habitat if handled right. We had 18 to 20 inches of snow and deep drifts and the quail are gone unless there was good habitat and then there hurting.

Welcome to UPH, Drop by often and tell how things are growing......Bob

Welcome from another habitat junkee and I would say that Prairie Drifter is chief of the habitat junkees and an awesome resource of information.

Welcome, I'm an old timer now, so I remember when there where birds, ( quail), in every lespedeza,,blackberry and multiflora rose fenceline in your country! Hope your habitat work helps out! We need all we can get! We have a Missouri state forum, join in.

Thanks for the welcome folks. I just added some photos in my NWSG conversion thread and I'll try to add more as I get time. I use photobucket and its a real pain in the arse as far as speed goes sometimes. I'll try to introduce some more habitat folks like myself from one of my other favorite forums, they have a really good forum with lots of habitat minded folks, and not just deer habitat either. Lots of upland and small game.
