New to UPH from Minnesota

Hello All,
I am really looking foward to this site. I am new to UPH and Minnesota.
I live in Shorewood MN. I have a Viszla and a German Short Hair, Love to watch them work. The GSP is 8months old and new to hunting, The Viszla is a worker.

I hunt ND and SD and soon to find some areas in Minnesota.
Always looking for pheasants, and grouse.

Welcome, Minnesota hunts do not compare to SD or ND but we have birds and if you get on good land with good dogs limits are possible. I was in Sd last week in the Huron area and it was bad. The birds are way down and the lack of hens has me worried.

Duke, I do agree bird numbers are down everywhere I have been. The winter last year was pretty rough on them. Hopefully this winter will be kinder...


Dakota, I orginally grew up in Windsor ND, just outside of Jamestown. I have spent the last 20 years in Colorado, doing most all of my bird hunting in Nebraska. Moved here last Oct and finally getting settled....

Thank You for all the Welcomes. I am really looking forward to doing some day hunts on the weekends and find something for the dogs within a couple hours anyway. Planning on a ND Hunt over Thanksgiving. If anyone is ever up for a day hunt and looking for someone to partner up let me know I am always game if I am not at work.:D:D

I have a Cousin over by Pierre, I can call him whenever... and I have a buddy from Brookings and I go with him when he comes home from Colorado.

I am always up for learning new areas though. My parents live outside of Jamestown ND a couple hours drive from Aberdeen, so I have been wanting to there and do a hunt in Aberdeen too.

You live in Minnetonka nice, we are close. Let me know if you are ever up for a day hunt some weekend.
