Hello guys I am from central Texas where's there's no upland hunting. All the quail are pretty much long gone .I am a avid dove and duck hunter and can't get enough of it but like to start doing more upland hunting. The trips for upland hunting I have been on were all guided hunts and I would like to start venturing out on my own. The question I have is.Is there much public land in the Texas Panhandle and Ok worth hunting on ??

Welcome to the site! Glad you joined. Can't help with the question, but there will be someone here that can. Hope you enjoy the site and good luck.

Welcome to UPH Sallysue, I do hope you are female as the name implies, we could use more female input around here...........Bob

Welcome to UPH from another Texan. Not much if any public land exists any longer in the Panhandle of TX or OK. I hunt the panhandle as my family has several sections of land. For public hunting, you can go just a little north of the OK panhandle into KS and hunt some pretty decent public land. Give me a shout sometime if you are up this way. Most everywhere we hunt takes a large group; however, there are lots or corners and some CRP to hunt.
