New to Me SGL

I usually hunt near Gettysburg or up in North Eastern Pa for pheasants ( I live in Southern MD due to work ). Because of my work schedule I couldn't get up to NEPA for the late season and the PA GC doesn't stock Adams County for the late season. I used the PA GC website to find some stocking locations near Adams county. I used google maps to "scout" one of the locations and look for spots that would be ideal for late season birds. Luckily it all worked out for us, Rusty pointed 13 and I knocked down 4 over the 2 days we hunted. One thing about google maps, it does show the satellite image but it doesn't show the beauty of the land. This SGL was one of the nicest I have hunted.

That my friend is the way it's done!:thumbsup:

We use all the tools available when locating our hunting spots, especially for wild birds.

You should feel real good about that hunt, well done. Way to go Rusty!

Nice photo's and thanks for sharing.

Good job on getting out there. Did you have any problems with other hunters? I did the late season twice years ago and had bad experiences both times and have never tried it again.

No pressure at all, surprisingly. Only other hunters I ran into were in the parking lot. Ran into a father and his kids going out to try to get some birds. I told them where we saw/missed birds and wished him luck. I really hope he got some birds cause that is what this pheasant stocking is all about.
