New to Hunting

I am new as the title implies. I have been out twice to the area south of Brush and flushed some the first day but missed, and then the second time I saw nothing. I go alone. Not sure if anyone had advice on better areas or tips for being alone without a dog. If anyone has any interest in meeting up let me know. I live in Denver and can split gas/drive.

Drew,
You will probably see more birds if you keep driving further east than Brush. Look for areas of cover with cut corn next to it. As a single and without a dog you should concentrate on edges and corners, rather than working through the middle of big fields. Check the WIA maps over carefully and put some scouting miles on your rig. With luck you might come across some shelterbelts next to crops or some draws that can be covered by one hunter.

Welcome to the forum and good luck the rest of the season.

Pairof labs hit the nail on the head. If I was hunting alone, I'd look for the smallest thickest cover I can find. Shelterbelts and old farmyards would be a great place to start.

Drew,

Most hunters take a "more the merrier" approach to late-season hunting. I am sure you will come across guys willing to join forces with you both in the field and on this forum.

Good luck!
