New Strap Vest

i like the looks of that. I bought a Rogers last year and Im not a huge fan. I like those big molded pockets on that, Id just leave a zipper open on my left side. The Rogers vest has flat pockets with snaps, not a fan. I also cant reach the water bottle without looking like im trying to hula hoop.
 
The chief shell pouch works well. It’s magnetic and I’ve read that it can interfere with electronics. So I have a separate pouch for that stuff.
 
I’m really happy with the vest. The zippered ammo design is actually pretty functional. The flap actually has a Velcro attachment on the inside of the pocket, so when you’re traveling I zip the pockets and when I’m hunting they are Velcroed. The material is a real heavy fabric and the game pouch is large and actually can be loosened is you need it. Two pheasants and a bunch of quail for very well in it. I’m 5’ 10” and 185 lbs and the vest fits me perfectly. That said, if you are much smaller it might not fit. It also has several really functional pockets that keep my step for crossing high or tight barbed wire fences, a cleaning rod, a cell phone and a camel fits in a pocket above the game bag. I can carry a box of shells in each pocket without any issues at all.
 
I got tired of the traditional vest I have this year so I bought a Dan’s vest after my last hunt. It has zippers on the ammo pouches. Not sure I’m going to like that. My mother in law is good at sewing, so I may enlist her to add some backup velcro or some magnets.

Most importantly, it was comfortable to wear for the entire day. It balanced the load very nicely and my shoulders never felt tired all day.
