why is everyone yelling in the field. I was raised to never talk in the field or yell hen or rooster. If you trust someone to be in a field with you with a gun then you should trust they know what a rooster is. Anyone else think like me or am I abnormal?

I prefer silence in the field. I do whistle at my dog and yell "whoa" if necessary. The quieter, the better when pheasant hunting imo.

Silence is a plus, but I always yell "hen" when I'm group hunting. I was raised doing it that way and it just seems like the right thing to do. I certainly don't yell with small groups of experienced hunters.
