Hey guys I'm in the market for a new 20 gauge over and under. My budget is around 3200$ I've been looking at the browning citori 725 and the beretta 686 silver pigeon, but I'm a little weary on the beretta after reading since covid they're newer guns the quality control has tanked. Any other brands or models you guys would like to persuade me on? Thanks!

I would look into the upland gun company. You will essentially end up with a semi-custom Italian shotgun made to your dimensions.

I can't speak to the quality of the post-covid 686's but I have pre-covid model and love it.

Your budget allows for quite a few choices. Get over to a store or sporting clays venue and see which one fits you best.

With your budget or for little more you should be able to get browning 20/28 gauge combo. Find nice used combo

Without hesitation I am going for a Beretta 687 SP III!

Won't persuade you here because I can't recommend the Browning 725 Feather 20 gauge enough. I bought one last year and enjoy the heck out of it.

But as others have said, go in and check them out as much as you can and find what fits you best.

How’s the balance on that one? I picked up an Artemis light in 16 and it was kind of weight forward
Balance point is about an inch in front of hinge pin. It weighs less than 5 1/2 lbs, so any weight forward is needed to keep from being whippy. It sure is nice to carry all day.

I was really hoping they would release a 20 ga 725 Lightning Feather at shotshow.

They make sort of one of them. Which has some pluses and minuses compared to a 725. For one, the chokes are invector plus versus invector DS. Not sure how much difference there is, but they use the old style chokes. It's about a grand more and they are hard to find, at least for me here in MN.

The plus side is it's a gorgeous looking gun with grede 3 or 4 wood and I like the checkering.

I might have pulled the trigger on one of those instead of the 725 if I could have found one around here.
