New member here and hunt trade request!

Hello all, new member here! Looking to see if anyone would be interested in trading a deer hunt in unit 11 or 12 for me and a buddy for some hog hunting down here in Texas. We have tags for the early Muzzleloader season for units 11/12. Also, we could do some great catfishing down here next spring.

trading a deer hunt in kansas, one of the best deer destinations in the country to go shoot an ugly pest that is a guaranteed kill and to me not really hunting isnt a fair trade in my book. you better throw in some dallas cowboys cheerleaders into the mix if you want any takers.

Thanks for the bump:D

Welcome to the forum! I don't think it sounds like too bad of a deal... I like pork.:D

Welcome. Post your Texas stories and photos.

Texan,

Welcome to the forum , I also am a new member. There are some very nice, helpful and friendly guys in this forum and that is why I joined. I have joined several waterfowl forums over the years and the guys could be real jerks at times, not the case here. Bird hunters are guys with tact and class. Good luck on the hunt swap!;)

Amen Allaboutthedux! Not sure what waterfowling sites you belong to but I have given up on them except to lurk every now and then for entertainment purposes. Good luck with your swap Texan.

Welcome Texan and good luck with your swap. Have you ever pheasant hunted in our Panhandle?
Thanks for all the nice comments folks. I am out hunting right now and will post some pics as soon as I get back.

So where in Texas are you? I do quite a bit of hog hunting in the Poynor/Frankston areas in East Texas.

:cheers:y

No matter of fact I haven't. Is it as big as ours?;)

I haven't hunted the Texas Panhadle either since the "Promised Land" (Kansas) is just a few miles further for me. It looked terrible last year and I saw very very few birds while driving through the area.

In short...IT WAS TERRIBLE. I've hunted here for 40 years and have never been skunked until last year. I think the dogs thought they were getting punished.

Central Tx near Austin.

No offense sir, but feral hogs are "shoot to kill" in most Midwest states, as in no license necessary. All out hunting has been banned here in KS license wise, because the FDA thinks they smoked them all with our tax dollars in choppers, but there are still several pockets of them in the Ozarks of MO that are free to shoot.

As for birds here in KS. Things were looking good until the rain left, and 110 degree temperatures took over. I will nearly guarantee another disaster proclamation in Western KS, where everything will be bailed and grazed before the summer is over.

Of course, things were looking terrific last year as well according to crow counts, but the "climate change" decimated the bird population.

Sounds harsh, but it's the honest truth. Welcome aboard.
