New Guy from West Central MN

Btown Brittany

Hey All,

I just discovered this site and it looks to have alot of great information. I am fairly new to pheasant Hunting, I seriously started last year and really enjoyed it. I have a 2 year old Brittany that seems to really have a great nose for ringnecks. I am looking for some advice for areas in MN that would be good to check out. I have mostly just stuck close to home, hunting local WMA's and WPA's. Any help would be appreciated. Talk to you all later.

Welcome to UPH, It is very nice to have another Brittany man on board. I can't help with your hunting in Minn. I live in Washington State. Enjoy the forum and drop often. We like to help and hear new ideas..........Bob

:welcome: to the site.
Mind me asking where in west central MN you live?

Btown, Welcome to UPH. I also have Brittanys. A 7 year old and a 1 1/2 year old, both females. I'm originally from Canby and have been going back there a couple times a year to hunt with some old high school buddies. A few years ago we had some pretty good hunting but the last couple of years it seems the numbers have been down. There is a lot of hunting pressure early in the season in the area. Fortunately we have several parcels of private land to hunt. Good luck and enjoy the UPH site.

Thanks for the welcome!

I live In Brownton, its about 12 miles south of Hutchinson. Its good to hear there are more Brittany guys on here.

We have a lot of of public land around here but like was stated ealrier there is a lot of pressure early. That really makes it difficult for the rest of the season. However, a good day out walking with your dog and not seeing any birds still beats a day at work.

Come on up to the Game Fair by Anoka in August. Our region of NSTRA is having a booth there. I'll be working the 2nd weekend. I'll be posting the hours I'm working later on this site.

Welcome and good luck. Best recommendation for late season would be to knock on some doors. A single hunter with dog will gain access. Just remember a no is just a no, does not mean anything else. Someone will say yes, just be polite and friendly, gates will open.

Welcome btown. What's with all you guys and your fancy, pointing springers? Lol! Just kidding brittanies are beautiful dogs, hope to hunt behind one someday!
