Greetings to all. My name is James. I live just outside of Pittsburgh. I am a huge hunter and fisherman. I've been doing both for most of my life. One thing I did not have the pleasure to hunt was pheasant until a couple of years ago. I am part of a sportsmen's club and went pheasant hunting through them. I became hooked right at that moment. Looking forward to meeting some people and just enjoying the site.

Welcome to the site,You sure picked a good time to start hunting pheasants in Pa.! The State has just increased the stocking of pen raised birds to back over 200,000 birds and the wild pheasant program is on the right track. There were over 170 WILD PHEASANTS flushed from just one 50 acre field during a recent flushing survey. Not the Mid-West, but certainly a good start. We are blessed to have a Game Commission that "gets it".

Do you have a dog? If you don't and you keep pheasant hunting you'll end up with one!
 
Sorry for the late reply. Been busy the last week. I do have a dog but not for pheasant hunting. I am looking into that right now. I know I don't need a dog to go pheasant hunting but it sure helps a lot if you have one.

Mike-I have gone bear hunting before but it's been a while. My screen name comes from people that would call me a big bear. I am a big guy plus they would say I'm this nice and sweet guy. So when I was thinking of a screen name it pop into my mind.

i grew up outside of pittsburgh in brentwood hunted birds when there were quite afew wild ones live in co now got 4 great brittanys which i run in trials and hunt welcome
