Looks like with all the CRP expiring this fall and that ground being returned to production, we will fall below the cap in the current farm bill.

This means an opportunity for those that want to re-offer and new-offer ground to go into 10-15 year contracts during the 4-week window beginning March 12th.

We will have more indepth knowledge of the opportunities after attending Pheasant Fest at end of this month. I would suspect Vilsack to be present for a show opening announcement.

Farm Bill Biologists will be on hand to work with you one on one for your land scenarios too all at no charge.

Here's the news release.

I suspect if they don't hit the cap thru the general signup we may see an issue of some more CP-38, 37 acres in key states.

Sadly, sounds like more habitat loss to the almighty dollar. I did my part, replanting this spring. Know you are thinking about it. Hope you get the info you need in KC. CRP is the sure way to bet the farm!

Seen Illinois' population dwindle, Iowa's decline. Went to South Dakota first time last November. Even though numbers were down 46%, still better than anything I have ever seen anywhere else. Trends tell us it can't last forever. All we can do is hope they hold on as long as they can...as long as we build their "field of dreams", they will have a chance.
