New Bng. Auto 5 - "stovepiping"

Have had this new gun for less than a year and have cycling issues.

Shot sporting clays yesterday; used 1oz, #8, Winchester shells. Out of one box, 5-6 hung up, didn't eject.

Anyone had this issue? Have you had similar issues with 11/8? 11/4?

I like the gun and shoot well with it...
 
Thanks for the response, Chip. I thought it was the gun. Will try 1 1/8oz on the next outing...What has been your experience with heavier loads?
 
Jon, have you contacted Browning? That would be the first place I'd be going to. That gun should cycle all loads and you should have to have it lubed to the point it's wet.
 
George: I did visit with Browning and they suggested at least 1 1/8 shell. Apparently lots of dove hunters calling using smaller shells and having problems. He didn't ask if I had the larger chamber!

The Bng. literature does specify at least 1 1/8 for 3 1/2" chambered guns. This information buried in their literature/instruction booklet.

I would sell the gun but have modified the stock et al to fit my remodeled shoulder...

Maybe browning should walk across the factory and ask Winchester how they got my SX3 to cycle every load.

FWIW, my Gold had the same problem, both light loads and cold weather.

A gun as expensive as the A5 SHOULD cycle everything.
 
There was someone, explaining what to do for this or rather how to set it up for the lighter loads on You-Tube! Might check there.
 
Thanks, Meller. Called Browning and they (and their literature) said I need to shoot at least 1 1/8oz. shell. Was not aware of this when I bought the gun, that it was a 3.5" chamber.

Will sell it as soon as I am able...good gun, but not for me.
