I was actually putting the question to the OP but the $$$s makes sense if the reliability and trigger is present, that being the big question here.
Just that many 20s and a 12 or two can be had at 6 1/4#...why the 28 in those clothes?
I had a 28 and it is a nice gauge built in many different fashions but no magic is involved.
As to the 6 1/4#.... in fact, the 5#ish weight of the Benelli would turn me off quicker than it takes to look at a hot horseshoe.
I hefted the Benelli once and...not for me.
I would actually consider a 6# 28 gauge Benelli, if 28 I wanted.
Just curious what drove the appeal for this particular 28 for the OP.
As to Der Bingle...while I think he used a 28 on occasion, Phil was most happy with his 28 gauge Model 12.
