Going out tonight to give it a try. It might be too early, but I'm going out anyway. I love those damn things!

Let us know if you find any and I'll be sure to do the same.

Just today,I noticed that the dandies are popping here inSEK,I think that this weekend might just be the start.

I love them things but have never hunted them. Can I get sometips where to look? What type of soil they like stuff like that. We have tons of different mushrooms at the cabin but nothing I would eat:mad:

I've never eaten them before but they grow everywhere here in central ks. I remember as a kid playing in the neighborhood running around and such and finding a few and practicing my field goal kicking.:D

be careful which mushroom you eat, some will make you pretty sick, some will make you see things. Heard some report yesterday that some small greys are up here in SEK,since I'm not turkey hunting today, might go out and see.

I live in South Central Indiana and have heard of a some people finding a few. Hope to get out for a little bit tomorrow. Good luck to everyone and happy hunting!

Out here in arid SW Kansas, about the only thing I see are the little brown mushrooms that pops up in cow patties after a rain. I understand they are poisonous. We do have oysters though.

I would love to try some morels one day.

Found 6 small grey's in Southern Indiana this morning. Probably going to be another week before it starts to get good here.

Mr.Byrd, I beleive those mushrooms are of the variety, that make you see things.
Just heard that they are starting to pop here in SEK,will diffently be going out this weekend.

I really need to make a return trip to Frontenac, check out the old neighborhood, see if Frontenac Bakery is still baking Italian hard crust, get some onion rings at Jim's and some chicken at Chicken Annie's and, most importantly, find some morels to eat for the first time.

Yes they are,Jim's rings are pretty good, and Annies is the best. And the morels arepopping as we speak.

Now you are really hurting me. I need to make that trip and spend about a week catching up on all the eats I have missed.

If you can make it back here in the next two weeks, I can and will point you in the right direction to find the mystical morel.

believe it or not,but we need a rain here in SEK to make thoses mushrooms pop.ME and the wife spent two hrs in prime mushroom land, only found 2 tiny greys. When the rains vome,so will the shrooms.

We spent about an hour in what we'd consider prime mushroom territory yesterday also, but didn't have any luck. I won't be going out again until it rains a bit.
