Learned yesterday that the (new) owner as of 6 years ago took his life…I don’t utilize the place, but know quite a few people that shoot clays there, and occasionally shoot birds for young dogs. The prior owners experienced a fire about a decade ago…total loss of the lodge/restaurant, I believe…they rebuilt. I have paid attention to the place, one of the former owners is a guy I knew a bit, bought a pup from him 30 years ago…he was a family friend. The owner who just passed owned land and facilities near Clark, SD, called Oak Tree Lodge…that was made available to the public, under the MN Horse and Hunt umbrella. The deceased owner bought H & H for $11,000,000…they throw about 3,700,000 clay targets annually…11 mil is a big nut to crack…bad deal….

My Dad’s best friend from sand box on had a son in law that created H & H…Randy Travalia. Randy passed away just a few years ago at 73 or 74..,he was a competitive clays shooter, traveled the globe doing that…and a consummate gentleman. Bill Urseth was his partner at H & H. Again, they sold 6 years ago. They had a dog trainer named Terry Correll, I bought a pup from him in 2000. I suspect many real estate developers would love to build trophy homes on those 600 acres…
