Milo Cut?

Talked with the guy who farms our ground last night and our's hasn't been cut yet. Gave it a shot yesterday, but just wasn't ready. Hope to have it out midweek next week. What are you guys seeing?

I know a guy who knows a guy who farms in Pratt county -- milo is still in the fields.

ours is cut. We're a ways north of pratt. Yields were good, but even better to my ears was that our tenant reported that pheasant sightings were up.

According to the USDA report of October 27th, statewide - milo was 38% harvested behind 51% last year and the 48% average.

Yep,

Our my farner out west is starting to cut and said they are seeing more birds than last year. Said will know better after they harvest:thumbsup:

He threw out 70% more bird which equates to 5 more birds than last year:eek::rolleyes:

They were cutting it here in Harvey County yesterday. Still had a lot of standing milo but I'm guessing with the potential for rain they will hit it hard this weekend.

One week gents!

The report we have gotten from our farmer friend hasn't been good as far as bird sightings. Milo is doing alright, but not many birds at all being seen.

I'm not quite ready to say that bird sightings have been "good", only "better". It'll take another couple nesting seasons before we're at "good".

I drove from Liberal to Norton a week ago and from Norton to Liberal this past Monday. Lots of standing corn and milo still. The farmers are all cutting right now so everything should come down pretty fast.

Milo cut

Bilbo

That boy needs a shiny new pup to ride around with you all spotting birds. You know, for cultural reasons etc Get him a nice little black Lab and make his day.

Talked to my farmer today who finished cutting corn yesterday. He flushed around 20 birds and a covey of quail. Started on soy beans today and should hit the milo next week. Hopefully, it will stay dry and he can get it finished by the 22nd. Sounds encouraging, I will add updates if there are any.
