Marhaba!

'Marhaba' is 'hello' in Arabic. :)

Greetings from Iraq's Anbar Province where I've spent the last two years trying to help the war-weary Iraqis get back on their feet. I'll be observing 9/11 in a few days by leaving this godforsaken place once and for all. It's going to be 'back home again in Indiana' where I want to start planning hunting trips.

My hunting experience has lasted 40 years so far and I've lived and hunted in western New York, north central Iowa, southern Indiana, southeastern Pennsylvania, and Michigan (southern, northern, and UP).

Looking forward to finding out more about bird hunting opportunities on the other side of the Mississippi River! :D

Thanks to all for the warm welcome to the site!

I'm currently a member of a State Dept. Provincial Reconstruction Team and have been embedded with military units. My 'uniform' is civilian but the rest of my experience is heavily influenced by the military.

Next week I'll be unemployed which leaves lots of time for hunting. It will be a nice change of pace to be around men carrying weapons other than M-4's and AK47's!

Drift Toward the High Plains

Let the big country and wide horizons of the high plains solace you in your return to a peaceful clime. Have a great hunting season and thank you for serving in a theater of war.

welcome back- and a big thanks

do you have a loved one, a shotgun that might find it's mark, a willingness to not duck when hearing close gun fire, and a desire to see some decent bird dog work- head to W Kansas Dec or Jan-

and post when you are coming

Welcome to UPH:thumbsup:
