Lost Pup

I'm new to the forum but I've been reading it for a couple of years. Our 6 month old Setter/Brittany mix took off with our coon dog 10 days ago and hasn't been seen since. The coon dog showed up Christmas eve. We've checked all the local pounds, posted signs, etc. but I was hoping to spread the word. We live in Jefferson County between Perry and Oskaloosa in the country. We're adjacent to Core land so I'm afraid someone has themselves a new hunting dog. I think there are a couple of guys relatively local. If you'd spread the word it would be appreciated both from a fellow hunter and a couple of heartbroken boys, 2 and 6 who lost their puppy.

I have a farm that butts up against corp land by the Kyle marsh. I will put the word out to my buddies who live up there and deliver propane and keep an eye out too.

Are you east or the lake or west?

Have you posted on social media (Facebook, etc)? If you're not into that sort of thing, post some pics of the pup. I'll send out a few feelers on there. Sorry to hear you have yet to find it... that has to be heartbreaking for everyone.

I highly recommend getting collars for your dogs with their name and your phone number on them. They are easy to find online and don't cost much at all. I have one britt that can take off. I've been called twice and was able to go pick him up quickly.

We posted on Facebook. I appreciate the offer and everyone's help. We had a collar on him but had recently changed from his first collar to his second and I hadn't switched the tags. Not much of an excuse. We've considered the GPS collars but haven't done much research. We are going to get the implanted tags as well.

Good luck with your search.

On my GSP I have a collar with my name and cell number and the wife's name and cell number. It's worked for me once.

Get in touch of a local radio station, maybe the one in Beloit, or in Clay Center (if one is there) and ask for them to air an announcement about your dog.
