Lost a hunting buddy last night

God bless all of you for enjoying one of His best gifts to us as men. I pity the man who never allows himself to love a dog!

Well-stated. We ARE blessed . . .

I looked into Titan's eyes on that picture and saw his honesty , his love , his wisdom and his heart! The eyes will tell you much about a dog. He shows that he was slowing down some but doing his best as always. I know you will miss him as I will miss mine and do miss those who are not with me now. This forum is chock full of dog lovers and folks who just know and walk the path with you when each of us has a loss, it hurts the others and reminds us all that "time" is short and to make the most of it. God bless all of you for enjoying one of His best gifts to us as men. I pity the man who never allows himself to love a dog!

Amen brother, I could not have said it any better. You know Monday night when my wife, three kids and my best friend along with the vet were all in our garage with him. As she adminstered the meds, he knew, we knew. It wasn't that his mind was gone or anything, it was his body. They work so hard for us and they are willing to go through anything to get us the chicken (so to speak). They live for us, to please us.

Dog spells GOD backwards ;)

Greg

Greg, KB, and Koja,
So sorry to hear and I know the pain you're going through. Unfortunately, it's part of what we sign up for when we get their unconditional love.

With tears in my eyes,
POL

Thanks, POL. This forum has far greater value than just that of a hunting information/story treasure. Thanks to all of the great dog folks who visit here.

It's hard loosing your freind

I lost my first GSP last Dec. he was 15, i took his hunting collar, some of his ashes, and a bird i shot that day and placed these items in the tall grass in one of our favorite fields so he will always be where he loved being.:(
