Looking for place to hunt

A buddy and I are heading to Aberdeen to hunt with our large group from November 6 to 8. The two of us (with my dog) are looking for a place to hunt on November 5th. Looking for a place between Watertown and Aberdeen. Anyone have a place for the the one day for two guys?

That's a tough one. You will probably have to look at hunting public land. But don't waste your time in the Watertown area. Bird numbers have been dismal here for quite a few years. You need to get west to the Doland area and beyond to find better bird numbers. There is quite a bit of public land (CREP) north of Doland around Conde. Good luck.

Suggest ordering the SD Hunting Atlas. Review the areas you wish to hunt and do some scouting; obviously some public are better than others...

Kevin, They have an app for smart phones that provided the hunting atlas and current regulations as well. The other option is to download the atlas as a pdf. Here ya go.

SD Smart Phone App

I love the smart phone app. It is great, I've spend many a day, navigating from the back seat driving the back roads. You can zoom in to see if there is water and what kind of terrain the plot has. Also indicates WPA, school lands, etc.
