Looking for a New O/U

My vote would be for Beretta. I have a 20ga 686 since the mid-90s and never once have had any issues. Seems bullet proof, comfortable to carry and fits me.

If the Beretta fits, it's a good choice. I didn't like the Browning's and others I looked at nearly as much as the Beretta.

However, in the 30 years i have owned it my propensity to spend has increased as well. If I were to add another O/U I might get some other manufacturer. Rizzini, Gamba, Guerini..... I'd love to get a Cosmi but my hunting life is probably not more than 10 more years. hard to justify!

Last time I hunted with Santa, he was shooting a Beretta 687 20ga. 28” barrels with English stock and upgraded wood. Maybe he was field testing the gun for you Britt, check for light scratches. If it doesn’t fit you, please reply back to him and drop the name Birddude.😁

Anybody have any feedback on Upland Gun Company? I like the idea of a somewhat custom gun…
That would be cool. The gun I would want would be north of $8500. I would probably choose a different maker at that price.

I agree, I would also be afraid of dropping that money before seeing this finished product. But would be cool to have a one of a kind

My Weatherby Orion (40 years or so) is a great 20ga gun. I believe it is SKB partnered production.

I am looking at a 12 ga. OU.
Yes, in the 80s Orions were SKBs.

Amongst the 6 SKBs of various gauges resting in the safe there is a 12ga Orion. Great shotguns.

Why not get another SKB? They are around at reasonable prices. SKB Omaha has the parts and expertise to handle any problems that occur.

I picked up a VERY nice SKB 605 (the XX5 models have screw in chokes) 28ga this year for $1350.

Just a thought.

I notice on Sportsman Warehouse website they show the details on many of the popular shotguns. Not that you have to buy from them but an easy way to compare weights and other details of different guns

I’m a Browning fan -2 White lightnings 28 & 26 in tubes and a Gran Lightning 28 inch all in 16 gauge + a Sweet 16
SKB 505 12 gauge has been a great gun for 30+ years

Wait a minute, let me get my glasses. Is that goose over there or is that a high-brow blue-blood in a Suburban?

Technically EELL means Extra Extra Lusso Lusso. Lusso=Luxurious

Goose, lets go on a late season hunt together. Bring that late model 'burban with the heated seats and steering wheel. I'll call one of the Gucci lodges in Montana and get a reservation. They'll throw out a bunch of cracked corn and liberated birds 30 minutes before we start our hunt.
We can eat fondue, and they will fly in Jimmy Buffett in the lear jet for after dinner entertainment.😀

Since I am left handed I’ve never been able to shoot Beretta O/U’s well due to their cast for a right hand shooter.
Citori’s don’t have any cast and mount much easier.
Nothing wrong with choosing either a Citori or Beretta. Find a used one and see if you like it. A bit more affordable that way.
On the Sporting clays tourneys I’ve shot Beretta is the most common O/U I see. When I shoot at Blackjack in Florida all their rented guns are Beretta. Call Rich Cole at Cole Gunsmithing. He can probably set you up with one of those so called “Gucci” guns.
