Looking for a New O/U

There’s a nice 12 gauge Marlin 90 on Gunbroker. I recently bought a Charles Daly by Miroku. Its light, but I haven’t shot it yet to see how it handles recoil. But its a nice gun.

I have a Benelli 828u it's been a good light upland gun so far. I have used 3 seasons now. I don't notice the recoil when hunting, but if you go shoot a round of sporting clays you feel it.

There are many options out there for what you are looking for. I’d suggest getting to a shop and holding as many different guns as you can. I prefer Beretta but really liking the new Rizzini I bought his year also.
Which Rizzini was it you bought
I see the BR110 and it is within my range

Never shot at game of any kind and felt any recoil at all. I fully admit that any and all o/u reek of Gucci. And also anything made after 1980.
There were some good guns back then, there are some good out now.

Stevens 550e has been a great gun for me. Lightweight for easy carrying. Good price point. Good, solid gun for the past 3 years for me.

It does look cool, it also has a shim kit, how do you like yours?

I like the ultraleggaro a lot. I’ve used it for dove and pheasant. I don’t think that it’s meant for a day of sporting clays. But to carry in the field for 4-6 hours and take 5-6 shots it works really well. I shoot Fiocchi golden pheasant 5’s, ounce and 3/8 at 1450 fps or so with no issues. The sides and bottom of the receiver are some sort of plastic, no rib between the barrels and stock is supposedly hollowed out nor than normal, which makes it light to carry and quick to mount.

You'll get alot of answers......

I have a Browning Cynergy CX Composite. It can take a beating, is light but not too light, has the ability to add spacers at the buttstock for fit of length, has the ability to raise the cheek pad for proper head alignment, has several barrel length options, smooth and crisp trigger. Plus it's a sharp looking gun.
I have a 12 gauge and a 20 gauge Citori and no problems in 40 years.

The Citori Cynergy is a good choice with no wood to worry about.
I shot my friends Cynergy and like it.

I was looking for a BR110 last year and ended up picking up a used Rizzini Aurum Light (20 guage, alloy frame), for less than a new BR110 was from the Cabelas used gun rack. Love that thing. My problem is I have way too many to shoot now.

Good problem to have!

You might have already done this. When I shoot an O/U for high volume clays I shoot the lightest load possible. If you can find 1oz. at 1170 or so they shoot so much softer than the standard 1 1/8 1200
If you shoot FITASC one ounce loads is the max for a 12g load

My Weatherby Orion (40 years or so) is a great 20ga gun. I believe it is SKB partnered production. I have killed quite a few ruffed grouse , woodcock and even some pheasants with it. Small gun but great in the woods.

I am looking at a 12 ga. OU. Down to Franchi or Beretta. Most likely a Beretta. The base Beretta 686 went up about $400 from 3-4 years ago. Procrastination did not pay on this delay.

Usually a short barrel guy but thinking 30” barrel as a compromise for upland and clays (not much competitive but I like higher scores).

And a 30" o/u is shorter than a 28" s/a due to receiver length. When I go to buy target loads I buy the lightest slowest stuff I can find. Ahlmans usually has good prices on those type loads.
