I've had Outdoor Research Crocodile Gators for over 20 years. They are great for all sorts of snow/wet grass situations. Got them for cross country skiing and now use them backpacking, hunting etc.
REI and Hoigaards in Minneapolis has Outdoor Research products.
For hunting, I use the low gaiter - my boots are low vs the traditional high style. They tend to hold the heat (feet) in warmer weather. However, I wear them every time I'm out in the weeds...
Check out Cabela's. They offer a waterproof gaiter at a reasonable price. Also, they show a 8" gaiter for low boot use, but they are a bit pricey at $50.
In the snow, I usually wear a pair of chaps over the gaiter. My skinny legs won't hold up a gaiter very well; the grass and weeds tend to pull them down.
I second the Outdoor Research Gators, I am on my second pair. The first pair lasted 6 seasons and are still in decent shape except for all of the burrs in the Velcro. I use them on almost every hunt. Keeps my feet dry and I can wear shorter boots that are more comfortable for those long SD fields!
Hey MoDog1,
I must admit that I am on my second pair too; not because the first wore out but when I was using them out in Kansas the farmer took a liking to them so I left them for him  and got me my next pair when I returned.
I wear OR low gators under Filson chaps and 5in boots. It works for me, and keeps the snow, dew, and mud out of the tops of my boots. If I could wear 10in boots I probably wouldn't need them, but I have to wear low boots.
I like the Cabelas Gore-tex gaiters. I always wear them when there is snow on the ground. It keeps the feet dry when walking in snow drifts because it can't migrate up the cuff of the pants.
