Late Planting

with all the cold, wet weather this spring, i would assume planting was real late...thus late harvest anticipated this fall?

Planting is late. Corn is coming up but it is cold so growth is slow. We have had wonderful rain with more coming, but yes corn is off to a slow start. Pheasants should be in great shape at this point.

I would not modify any plans yet. Wait and see how the summer goes with the amount of growing degree days. An above average temp summer can speed things up.

planting complete

We planted the PF Blizzard Buster and Winter Shield on 30 May then it rained for two days it dried out just a little on the 2nd of June so I put the corn in even though the conditions were not the best. Corn is up 1 1/2 inches as of 13 June, Some area's are spotted but I couldn't make it back to replant so it will have to be good enough. the sorgum looks good but I need one of my brothers to return and spray soon. Lots and Lots of Corn in NE South Dakota so we went heavier on the sorgum. Expecting better results later in the season. Would like to prep some ground for lilocs planting later this Fall.... Happy food plotting
