Last Oregon Trip of The Year

I'm heading out for my last trip to eastern Oregon tomorrow. It has been a great year for pheasants and quail. This trip is all about chukar though. I normally don't hunt there this late in the season, however they have gotten very little snow this year which makes access pretty easy. Now all I need are a bunch of chukar that are living on some reasonably flat ground.

Got back Sunday from eastern Oregon. The weather was perfect with afternoon highs in the mid 40’s. Three hunters and two good dogs worked out well. We spent every morning hunting quail and every afternoon hunting chukar. The bird numbers were amazing. However, I didn’t find any chukar in any place that was flat so that sucked. My legs, stomach and diaphragm muscles were sore. We did find birds wherever we went though and no injured hunters or dogs which is amazing when you hunt such big country. Although pictures don’t do it justice, I will share a few. IMG_0110.jpegIMG_0864.jpegIMG_0867.jpeg
