Lane county , kansas update

Just got off the phone with the land owner who graciously lets me stay and hunt on his property, and he said he has seen more pheasants in the last week than he has all hunting season. Says they won't even get out of the way when he is driving. With a good spring and summer it might be amazing next fall. I thought I was seeing a lot of birds while hunting, but I guess not...:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

That sounds promising! I'll have a new pup come next season too, so lets hope!

I just got back from running my dogs on wild birds up in Kansas today. The winter has not hurt them much, I got up over 50 birds today, and opening day we might of got up 30 or 40, saw lots of hens, and did get into 2 large covey's of quail, keeping my fingers crossed for November.

yeah I don't think the winter hurt them much at all. Just gotta hope that the spring comes soon and isn't too wicked.
