Kennebec, SD 2007 Outlook?

Does anyone know how the hatch this year is looking for the area around Kennebec, SD? (2007)

Can anyone comment on how the Walk-In areas may look like in this area for 2007? Last year, quite a few areas were cut really low, compared to 2005, and I was thinking it was in part due to farmers needing the grass for livestock. Was it the DNR or just drought conditions?

Update from Dakota Hotspots:
Ryan, I think itâ??s looking good, I was out there in June and seen quite a few. Cover should be good this year, we just received 2 inches in Kennebec, should help the milo. Was a dry stretch there for awhile but I think the rain will save us. - Mike

Not sure how the walk-in areas are. Yes, it was dry last year.

My Double Oarlock Camp is located 8 miles south of Presho and they just caught almost 2" of rain the 1st part of month which will really help cover and birds. Good bird reports coming from the Presho area. Looking forward to road counts.

Word has it that there are high numbers of birds in the Kennebec/Presho area in 2007

Not sure what the word is around Mobridge, SD this year. They got hit hard in 2006 by the drought. I hunted there in the opener last year and 85% of our birds we harvested were 2nd year birds.

Good moisture up in that area this year I guess.
