well....came back to Kansas to get some more use out of my license I got last January when I was here....6-10 inches of snow on ground at home in IL and COLD temps.....Kansas welcomed me with snow free terrain and warm temps...TOO WARM actually....have had great couple days checking out some new areas....finding birds and getting some nice dog work...got HOT today...will hunt half day tomorrow and head home to get back to work.

40 mins on the ground...Ace pointed a covey...I doubled...and a single that I got also! all roosters for a change..way to get it started!

I know I'm close now....

It did get awful warm the last couple days, but just last weekend it was cold! That's Kansas for ya! Glad to see you got into some birds, especially after the drive you had to make to even try.
Tell me about your dog...
Looks like he could be related to my pup.

one in pics is Ace...hes a 3 year old GWP ....bred by a good friend of mine in NJ...my older wirehair Jag is 12. He didn't have any finds today so wasn't any pics of him. thanks....

Sounds like a fun day!

I like Ace's coat. Long enough to give him a little protection, but short enough to be low maintenance. Handsome dog!

yes...his coat is bout as good as it gets with a wire...THANKS he ran through barbwire all day with no issues...lol

Thanks for the report!

I must be late to the party b/c I can't see the darn pics:mad: It says, "User deleted image", but it may have something to do with my browser.

YES it was....wasn't tripping over coveys but found enough birds to make it interesting. found about as many as I expected. was just nice to hunt on bare ground no snow cover and not freeze my arse off like its been here at home. I just have a fondness for Kansas anyhow...always did. I hope to get back in January. I just got home and unloaded..dogs fed and laying in their beds...birds prepped to cook tomorrow for dinner. Time for bed gotta be up 4:30am for bed...

thanks....just got settled at home and I'm already on the computer planning my next trip out there....lol
