I plan to hunt Kansas in the fall of 2016. I would like to try a mixed bag of pheasants and quail. I get my share of roosters over year but would like to add quail. Never hunted for them before. What areas should I concider?
In that quail are a boom or bust species it is too early to give you accurate locations to plan for. It will have to about be in the western 2/3 of the state to have significant pheasant numbers. A lot can happen for or against the quail in the next 8 months. Start at the target's outer ring and work in as the nesting season evolves.
