Jetboil Minimo sale

As an FYI, Jetboil is going to update this stove and the current version will be discontinued. I think they normally sell between $125 and $160 and Amazon has one on sale for $95 right now. Different colors have different prices. I got one the other day for $91. That was the best current deal I could find vs REI etc., FWIW, I read some got a deal for $75 a few months ago.

I have a number of cook kits and stoves of all sizes and weights and I've looked at the Jetboil Minimo's for the last few years but never bought one. I've read that they are good for simmering and cooking and come pretty complete as a kit. Too big/heavy for my back pack hunts or hunts where I'm just boiling water but it's a lot smaller than my camp stoves. I've always thought it would be a great stove to keep in my truck for when I'm traveling or days I'm hunting by myself and don't want to drive back into town to get something to eat. Gives me the option to heat up some soup or a hot drink on a cold day. With the price of fuel and fast food these days, I don't think it will take long to pay for itself.

Thought I'd mention.

Ramen noodles with some sautéed peppers and onions and some game bird meat is a very good meal…I’ve done pheasant and sharpie…if the meat is sliced thin, it cooks right in the soup…a veggie peeler is a nice way to create carrot ribbons, which cook pretty quick too…we’ve added cream cheese as well…

Over Christmas I picked up one of those jet boil base camp two burner systems. I think it was on sale right at 200.00 . I was always fighting my other stove.

Ramen is such an easy thing to make on a tailgate. I bought some yesterday and a couple small bags of instant mashed potatoes I can sprinkle in with it.

I noticed the plethora of options this fall when shopping…lots of similar products out there…I tried some Korean noodles, forget the exact name…very good!
