Increase in hunters

Perhaps they used to hunt years ago. The economy tanked, and they've found a source for cheap food. I have a feeling this is the case.
 
I could buy a lot of prime rib with all the $$$$ my hunting costs.:cheers:

lol. Yep. I'm around $400 to $500 each year in license fees. That's low compared to many others out there.:eek:

What kills me is I have to buy a non-resident license in WI where I own several hundred acres of ground and pay property taxes. They get me for close to $450 each year in licenses to hunt my own property. Then I do Illinois for pheasants and resident IN.

Most of the cost is because I deer hunt WI but I almost never even shoot at one. I might just skip the deer shooting and sit in my stand and hunt for pheasants and watch for deer. The seasons overlap.

I gotten a few cocks out of my deer stand over the years. :D

lol doesnt that scare the deer if one happened to be around ? do you bring two guns or is it a shotgun deer hunt?
 
True in some cases, but I already had a gun. My license is free. A box of shells and I'm ready to hunt. If I'm a good shot, a $10 box of shells will get me a dozen or more birds. I'm not back in the hunting game because of the economy, I got back in for the fun and to show my kids. I brought three of us into pheasant hunting in one year. I love it, but some are doing it because they want to eat tomorrow.

If we turn this into big game hunting, you'd get even more food for less money.
 
Hey, A T M, must have a good spot to choose to purchase an Illinois licence. Not worth me buying one as a resident up north, not seeing any, and no place to go. All my shekels are on South Dakota for the win.
