While turkey hunting this year in Crawford County my neighbor explained to me that his CRP land is to be mowed and it is also planted in cool season grasses (warm season are better for quail, pheasant, and turkeys). He and I have since talked to a Quail Forever biologist who said these CRP contracts can be renewed into better habitat programs when up for renewing. Or you may be able to switch them if the end date is far enough out. Anyhow if you guys hunt land or have land that has CRP that is not the most suitable for bird nesting and rearing you may want to look into better programs. Habitat is the key!!:)

Did anybody on here sign up any new ground into CRP? I am planning to add a couple small fields and wanted to know if anybody else was adding land. We plan to plant in warm season grasses for more nesting and brood cover.
