Ice Conditions in South Dakota

Driving to SD today. I checked the weather for the past week and was surprised at how warm it was the days after Christmas (high 40s?). Has anyone noticed any problems with the ice, or did it just get wet on top and that top melt should be refreezing now?

I'm heading to north central, east river.

Better safe then sorry. This weekend is supposed to make for some solid ice but there are waterfowl keeping spots open that haven't been open this time of the year for a long long time.

I didn't fall in today on the several sloughs I braved. Didn't look like any were spring fed though. Those are always risky.
I've had no issues.....stay away from close proximity of muskrat houses.
A lake I hunted by yesterday had probably 10 full sized trucks and ice houses on it....that was Bowdle area.

They are taking quads, utvs, trucks, Snobears, wheelhouse shanties on all the bodies of water around me on bigger lakes....sloughs are no issue except where springs may exist, muskrat holes, or current. East river, cental.
Found a couple spring fed sloughs today. Luckily didn't find the openings when in thick cattails where I couldn't see my feet. No water on the boots.
