Hunting Report - opening weekend

Had an opportunity to visit with two fellow hunters regarding their respective hunts, both were opening weekend events.

First hunter: 9 miles south of Aberdeen, 20 hunters shot 20 birds in 4 day's. Way down from previous years, usually shoot over 60 birds.

Second hunter: not a very complete report - hunting near Kimball, 25 mi. east of Chamberlain, did very poor.

No crops were up at the Aberdeen site; can't comment on the Kimball hunt.

Hi Jon,
We have been doing 2 birds per man per day with all the corn still standing. We now have stripped a couple of fields so we will see what that does. I had a small group get their limit on thursday at one of the satelite spots. I still think we are up from last year.

Hey Dennis,

Thanks for the message - it appears hunters are doing better in your area and having some success.

We hunt west of the river a ways and did well; bird numbers difficult to equate, due to crops still standing.

Best to you for the season! Miss not seeing you over Christmas...

Jon
