Anyone read a good book lately about hunting stories, real or imagined?

I'm reading "Horn of the Hunter" by Robert Ruark. African Big Game hunting stories at their best.

I just got done with one, "Voices on the Wind" I believe it was called (don't remember for sure right now). It was good, a light read full of grouse coverts, dove fields, and that damn wiley rooster we all love. It also had a bit of conservation talk, hunter ethics, and comradery. I'll give you the title and author for sure later ad it is blanking me right now but I would definitely recommend giving it a read. I ordered a new one today "A Hunter's Road".

I've never spent much time reading for recreation. Never got a big thrill out of it. However, I've read Jenny Willow by Mike Gaddis about 3-4 times and still go back to it if I need a lift. The descriptive writing puts me in the mountains even in settings I've never witnessed in person.

I read a few reviews for Jenny Willow and it looks like I'll have to pick up a copy.

I really want to read the "Mouthful of Feathers" book as I love their blog but its only available as an e book right now and I don't care for reading "books" on my phone, the reviews on it are really good though.

RUN, RAINEY, RUN by Mel Ellis is an old friend, re-read too many times to count.

Enjoyed JENNY WILLOW a great deal.

THE GORDON MACMANUS SPORTING TREASURY is a fun read.

A ROUGH-SHOOTING DOG by Charles Fergus is very well-written.

MORE STORIES OF THE OLD DUCK HUNTERS, by Macquirie is enjoyable.

and, a different kind of story: OLD FISH HAWK, by Mitchell Jayne, is a treat.

Could we ever expect a book from you Kis? I always enjoy your stories, especially the YB series.
