Hunting after hard rain?

Rained pretty hard around here most of the day yesterday and through the night. Going to try and head out for a couple of hours this afternoon here. Any tips for hunting after a heavy rain? How does the rain impact the birds? Will they be in the same spots as usual?

It's hard for dogs to pick up scent, after a rain. Sometimes they will come out to chow, after a rain, if the sun is out, and it isn't windy.

when there tiny little feet run across the wet ground it holds there scent. my dog tracks very effectively over moist ground.
