How often can you hit the honey hole?

If it is only you hunting a spot, how often is too much to hit a spot. I have some that I hit 2 to 3 times a week. Sometimes they have birds some times they do not, but that is typical of all of my spots with few exceptions. I see UGUIDE limits his hunters to 3 days a week. If a spot gets hit every weekend do the birds disappear if they have a 5 day break during the week?

I can't say, sorry. I don't hit any spot more then 3 times all season. I guess I never have even thought of going more then that. I have plenty of places to go.
When I go to IA we walk hard for 5 days straight and never hit the same spot twice. Several spots around home I only walk once.

Life must be tough. If I could do that I would have to have over 200 spots

Depends on the size of the spot and if your the only one hunting it. A typical buffer strip in Iowa, you could hunt about every 4-5 days. A CRP field in Iowa, you could hunt every 2-3 days. This would be for 1-2 hunters. Ideally you if you had enough spots, you would let it rest a week or more and let the birds pile up and get comfortable.

So are you saying that it depends on the type of cover? Whether it is loafing, nesting, food plots, etc? I guess that would make sense.

I see that being a factor as well. But it is also gota be the simple thing of just how many birds are in a paticular spot. The reason I don't go to one spot too much is, They are all mostly private. And I don't want to wear out the welcome. Some places I havent been back to ask for 5-6 years. This year I can think of 29 different places I went to. Theres more most likely, just not thinking of them. Actualy a few I had permission on, I never made it over too. I try to have fresh placecs to go. In fact when T,O came over we ran out of time to hit a few spots, and I never did go to those. This is around home. I have other places in the state that I can ask for to keep a person busy too. Next year I may have to go elsewhere because of the #'s thing from winter. My fun could be sudenly done.
I guess I never realy thought about this too much, but I do alot of asking. And like I said I don't want to un welcome my self. So I realy don't know how many times you can hunt a spot. I have it in my head also that I just like to go somewhere new most every time. In IA I could see this being an issue. Around my home turff down there you don't have a whole lota choices. There is alot of dirt down there. Things are different here. Every section has severel spots in it.

We never hit the same spot more than twice. I wish I had the problem of hunting more than two days a week. I may take a day off from work during the season, but can't take more.

Twice all year or Twice a week?

If your honey hole is a spot with great cover that you have to yourself. Say within a good pheasant population and daily hunting pressure in your neighborhood. You could hit it twice a day as the hunting pressure pushes birds to good cover.

Twice all year for the most part, we have a decent amount of places to hunt, plus some ground opens up later as the corn gets picked. Also some public ground opens up later in the year. So our pheasant season has seasons to us.

We hit it twice maybe three times (max). We hit it the first time due to the fact we are guiding on opening weekend and the $$$ per day guys need to find birds so they keep coming back...:) Then it is saved for "family & friends" for the final weekend.
