How Many Birds Per Acre or Acres Per Bird?

I bet this one is more recent and probably more accurate. Based on my pheasant hunting travels, this is the most accurate.

Sorry but I do not think that it is even close. When you compare it with the counts from SD, http://gfp.sd.gov/hunting/small-game/pheasants.aspx, things don't line up. SD info might be more accurate from what I have seen. But I have not hunted a lot of those counties.

A few years ago I spoke to the owner of an all wild bird hunting operation (this means they hunt Iowa DNR rules regarding season dates, shooting hours, and a daily bag limit of three roosters) he said their records indicate harvesting 0.6 roosters per CRP acre per season. That means if you owned a section of CRP managed for pheasants you and your friends (and you would have a lot of them) could take 384 roosters a season.

That's around 6 roosters a day for everyday of the season. I guess that might be possible.
