We have knocked on farmers doors successfully getting private access then always give the owner something for the privilege. There are pay to hunt places nearby starting at $150 per gun if that is what you desire.

I like to have four guys minimum during October & November then December minimum could be two.

Thanks for asking.

OK...thanks for the iinfo back.

Who arranges the land/farmers for hunting? Can you be more specific as to "give the farmer something" for hunting? What have you been paying them? Would assume they are all paid the same.

Thanks

I give phone numbers to the pay2hunt places to my customers then they make the reservations.

When I have a farmer give me permission to access his land I always go back later with a gift of appreciation. It varies from place to place. You have to figure what it was worth to you to hunt the farm and if you want to go back again another day. That's how I look at it.

I'm not a guide. I rent the house to hunters who are looking for a nice place to stay with good hunting nearby.

that is a good deal, IMO, as-is...you are saving a good deal of $ each day by being able to cook your own meals, not having to eat 2 or 3 meals out...getting on private land depends on time of year to a great extent...pre-deer season, it may be harder, and you may have to pay a good deal...later, it may not be too tough to get on, and if you offer some birds, or, have some smoked salmon, or some treat from your locale--maple syrup, ???, you know, you may find easier access...that is a good area from what I hear..don't know much about public land there, but I assume there is some WMA, WIA, CREP, WPA within 30 miles...good luck!

a good friend of mine puts together a hunt in late november near athol at a lodge...has 10 guys, and it includes a lodge, meals, and a guide/land access...$350/day...I hate the idea of being told where/how to hunt...just me...think of this like a motel...they usually don't come with land to hunt...but you are getting some "soft connections", I am guessing, when you book this place, as the owner probably has some name recognition...maybe not, but for $75/night, you aren't risking a whole lot...
