Hot Weather = Doves

Very Nice Wildcat! I have the browning Citori White Lightning but dont shoot it very often.

Im going to try my luck on phez and quail with my new Browning Maxus Hunter. Beautiful semi-auto wood gun!
 
I managed to sneak out of the house this morning for a couple of hours with my oldest boy and after 2.5 hours I managed to scratch 8 birds down and miss.....well who is counting??

Great pic in the wildflowers. Glad you got out and got into a few, but what really makes me smile is the smile on your boy's face.
 
Uh Oh.... Did I miss it??? Did some windshield scouting on Sunday and Monday and didn't see too many gray birds... Of course, it was really windy Sunday so I didn't think too much about it. But I expected to see more yesterday. What's the word, boys, did I miss the "good" part of dove season?

I should be able to get out some morning this week. Looking for a low-wind day. Should I put a bumper into the dove bucket so the dog gets some action?

I too did some driving Sunday and there just weren't as many as there were before the front came. Maybe the wind is what was keeping them from moving. We should have some birds showing up. We'll see if the weather will push them on through or if we'll have a week or 2 with those birds.
