An honorable Veterans' Day to all UPHers who served in our Armed Forces, especially those who were wounded in body or spirit or are no longer here to go afield with us.

Some favorite quotes from American veterans:

"Sir, I have not yet begun to fight!" - Captain John Paul Jones, U.S. Navy, on being asked by a British captain to strike his colors during a naval battle of the Revolutionary War.

"Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!" - Admiral David Farragut, U.S. Navy, on being advised of mines in the water during the Civil War.

"Nuts!" - Official reply of Brig. General Anthony McAuliffe, 101st Ariborne Div., U.S. Army, to a demand to surrender during the Battle of the Bulge, WWII.

I was going to make a thread for the vets, glad someone beat me to it. Each of us more than likely has a family member serving, or has served. It's easy for us to forget that these men and women offer their lives in some instances for us to keep our freedom. God Bless our Veterans, and thank you for all that you do.
