Thought you guy's would get a kick out of this. My farmer buddy in SD texted me this photo a couple hrs ago. He was out combining milo late today when he flushed a rooster that flew up and hit the cab of the combine. It came to rest on the combine where it rode with him for 7 or 8 minutes. Finally it had had enough and flew off. Look hard it's there. Headed back up early thurs morning.

good luck carptom we will be out there at the same time it looks like im headed out tomorrow morning be there till sunday afternoon

u see a green mini van with PF & NWTF stickers & a guy with a white bulldogge & a brown & white SM its me yell or stop by & let me know wear to get a good burger & beer... i will be to far for the busted nut i think??? lol

haha this is great.. I am such a sucker..just seeing a rooster..even a picture one..gets me excited to go hunting.
 
a couple of my buddies who are farmers in Iowa always carry their shotguns (during season) when they are combining so as they cut corn and the roosters fly they are ready to shoot...not my particular style of hunting but I but it makes farming a lot more fun!

i would be probably be close enough & in need of a shower & or cheap hotel & a beer by friday around sun down PM me a place to meet up if you want 2??? you know wear ill be in general write carptom tell me in the PM lol

no biggie if not ill be doing the ruff it camp out thing any way so im prepared for that good luck & happy hunting to you carptom...

herd i think of the cattlemen's steakhouse??? thought there was another??? even just a big burger beer & a shot will do after a few long days in the prairies...

ill find some place im sure lol
 
that was it i will be sure to look for ya if im in there fri-sat??? if im lucky & sit on a horse shoe & get a limit both my 1st days very slim chance of that i will head to pierre to get a bit & maybe watch the vikes get beat up by RG3???

I'm a big steak guy, and the steak I had at cattleman's was really good. And drinks were reasonable there as well. Worth checking out and is a nice reward to one's self for a good day in the field.
