I stumbled across this forum while researching bird hunting. I got the bug a couple years ago and now i am fully hooked. I am purchasing my first dog dog in a couple months after i find the right breeder ( i have it narrowed down to 3).

I am about 90% sure i will get a lab as they tend to be easier to train and they should get along with the cat and kids.

This will be my first gun dog (only had rescue dogs in the past) and i have found some pretty good breeders. Hopefully the natural instinct will be able make up for my lack of skills.
 
I got a lab, she is 5 months old now, attached a couple pics. Not sure how to post images and not attachments., took out for a walk in the woods and the nap after.

Nice looking pup. Nice to see pics please keep us posted as she amtures and the training intensifies.
 
Assuming you did your research, you won't be disappointed with your choice of a Lab. They are amazing dogs, extremely versatile and they love to hunt. My favorite breed by far!
