Hello,
Just wanted to let everyone know I'm new to the site, just found it this morning. I moved from WI to ID a few years back for the big game hunting, but got hooked on Pheasant hunting last fall. Bought a 1-1/2 year old GSP last fall and this spring bought a 6 month old male. Having a great time working with both dogs and have a new hunting passion. Found this site this morning while looking for some info on North Dakota pheasant hunting. I have friends in WI that were going to meet us in North Dakota for a pheasant hunt this fall. If everything works out we will be there in October.
Looks like a lot of great info for a new bird hunter at this site.

Welcome to UPH, I see we are neighbors, I live in Washington. Are you in the North or South parts of Idaho? Where I live it is only about 20 miles to the State line. Enjoy the site if your have any question ask away. The group is always happy to help.....Bob

Welcome to the site! My first North Dakota pheasant hunting trip was incredible. The conditions were terrible, ice crusted snow that let the birds know we were coming long before we got there. With so many birds in each field, we never had a chance but we sure got to see a bunch of em'. Birds aboslutely everywhere like an infestation.

Where (general vacinity) are you planning to hunt in ND? Public or private?

Thanks for the welcome.
My friend from WI is setting this hunt up.
Its in the Hettinger area on private land, probably a 3 day hunt this first time. Really just looking for an area about halfway between ID and WI to meet up and hunt. From what I read on this site and other websites that area seems to have been hit hard this winter/spring. We'll still be out there either way hunting and giving the dogs a workout.

Hettinger county is where I hunted last year. I simply couldn't believe how many birds there were. They were difficult to get within gun range of, but we still managed to harvest a few. Best of luck to you up there. Sure hope I get the chance to go back.

Welcome to the site, what part of Wisconsin did you move from? On Wisconsin!

Grew up in the Waukesha area, now live in Star, Idaho.
McCall is a beautiful area to live, a little too much snow in the winter though.
On Wisconsin! You betcha'
