Hello, everyone.

I have hunted pheasant only one time about 3 years ago in Colorado. I do a lot of duck hunting here in Texas. I would like to do more pheasant hunting since I retired July 1. I am 57 with a 10 year old chocolate lab that was born a pointing lab. (From Black Forest) What a nose he has. I would love to give him a chance to hunt some pheasant. :)

Welcome to UPF. I hope you enjoy your retirement and get into more pheasant hunting. The UGuide hunting group builder thread is a great way to get some good hunts in up in SD where there are always plenty of wild birds.

Welcome to the UPH. You have scattered pocket of wild pheasants about 75 miles south of Brenham, in the rice field around and south of Bay City, Texas, but no open season.

To get into a real truly wild pheasant hunt in Texas, you have to get up to the 37 counties in the Texas Panhandle (in early Dec.). Call the chamber of commerce in the following towns: Plaiview, Olton, Tulia, Hart, Dimmitt, Hereford, Dumas and Spearman.
