Havelock Setters

Has anyone bought a dog from them? How are their dogs? Do they run a pretty good operation/breeding program?

Thanks

I don't have any experience with Havelock Setters but one of the guys in our region of NSTRA has a Havelock dog named Havelock Buckwheat (Buck) who is out of Havelock Clippership (sire) and Havelock Julie (dam). Buck is an excellent dog and has accumulated quite a few points in the NSTRA trials. In fact, he ran at the NSTRA Mid-West Championships in Waverly, NE this past week.

If you go to Havelock's web site look under the "Winner's Circle" and you will see Buck there.

I had two setters that had Havelock lines. They were great family pets loved kids stuck around home when let out of the kennels.
Hunting
they worked close, backed points, easy to train. Neither one would retrieve birds.

I have one, great running dog that has won placements at field trials, passed hunt tests and does well out hunting. Fine all around dog, he was out of CH Blacksmith. Unfortunately, he died but I would look at a pup out of a Blacksmith son.
