Has anyone heard about this, I just got an email about this and would like to get more info.....

Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own. It will require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun. This bill was introduced on February 24, 2009, by the Obama staff. BUT, this bill will only become public knowledge 30 days after the new law becomes effective! This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee has passed this without the Senate voting on it at all. Trust Obama? You must be kidding!

i think after this voting going on this Nov.. im guessing if the republicans take over... obama's gun rights wont go through... im not even sure what the republicans think of gun rights.. maybe im wrong.. but i know one thing.. obama wont be getting the votes for the next president's election when millions and millions of gun owners arent gonna vote if they take away the gun rights... it'd raise havoc... besides.. gives the criminal more peace of mind there wouldnt be any weapons in the house they are breaking into and not get shot at. that is if ALL the guns were forced to be given up. bs if you ask me.

There was a recent thread in here discussing the recent Heller and McDonald decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court -- which were also covered extensively in the press -- in which the court held that the 2nd Amendment guarantees the right of an individual to possess firearms. Consequently, neither the states nor the U.S. Congress have the power to ban gun possession outright although the Court left open the door to reasonable regulations citing existing bans on gun possession by the insane and felons. No other nation in the world allows its citizens the gun rights that we have. Given our history, our customs regarding firearms, and the recent Supreme Court decisions, our gun rights have never been more firmly fixed in the law.
