A guy can't help but notice the # of guests that have been visiting lately in comparison to members. There are many more guests than members.

What do you think it would take to get more of them to sign up and begin posting? OR is this typical of sites like this one?
 
I don't know where the guest status is listed but I have seen 3 first time posters looking for SD hunting opportunities today.
 
it's just like most hunting forums.... most of them are just internet scouting. Wanting to get something from nothing. Its horrible on duck hunting forums.
 
I've noticed the same thing KB. I cant think of anything to entice, people to join. I think people just like to surf the net.:)
 
I think Spence is right. Much of it is probably internet scouting. I believe in the "reach around" though and I would expect them to do as I did and join up someday so they can share their experiences/information. I don't do the internet scouting thing b/c I don't trust that I'll be getting good information from a complete stranger, but it sure is nice to read their stories/reports anyway.
 
Keep an eye on the New Members at the Bottom. We are getting a good number each week. I think most of them are like KB said setting up trips for I never see many of them posting regularly...........Bob
 
If they only knew that we gave away all the secrets in April, May and June!!!!!!!!:cheers:
 
Yea I visit a couple other sites and even if I am a member rarely ever post.

I wonder if a member is viewing the site but is not logged in does he show up as a quest?
 
Moe is correct I was viewing without signing in and appeared as a guest. Depending where I am doing my viewing (ie work) I am less likely to sign in and create more of a record of my internet time.:)

I am right now... But I own the company so I will have a talk with myself later..:D I do have guys that work for me that are getting into the dogs and birds, one guy cleans my kennels every morning...I am taking him toSD this year all on my dime..

Mike yes they do show up as a guest. That is why there are so many members and so many guests to make a total number.........Bob

Yep, for now anyway. I'm going to be in big trouble if they ever check my internet usage. Oh well, nothing obsene or pornographic.....only hours and hours of checking this site WAY TOO MANY times per day. Logged in to my account or not, it still reflects in my internet usage either way.

Since I posted the original post I've searched some other forums and found that they have a lot more "shoppers" than "buyers" as well......this is the one and only forum for me:eek:

I'll sell you some of my "stuff". You have to work on most of it before you use it and none of it is purdy, but if it would make you happy, let me know what you're in the market for:D
